Fall Creek Falls State Park

The following trails are closed at Fall Creek Falls until further notice.

  • The entire Lower Loop Trail is permanently closed.

The trails below are closed due to the Oct. 6 flooding. 

  • Upper Loop Trail

2022-12-09: The Virgin Falls Trail is open from the Scotts Gulf Road Trailhead. However, we urge hikers to use caution at the cable crossings due to high water levels. For an update on the flooding conditions, visitors can call the Virgin Falls Office at Dog Cove, phone (931)739-6747.  Or call the Virgin Falls Manager Stuart Carroll at (423)414-1510.

10-14-21: Heavy rains brought severe flooding to Fall Creek Falls State Park. Cabins 11-20 were impacted by the flooding. The park is currently assessing the damage and working with guests who have upcoming reservations. We appreciate your patience during the recovery process. 

All Fall Creek Falls Golf Course facilities will close on December 23, 2022, and reopen (weather permitting) on January 2, 2023.

Cabins

Fall Creek Falls Cabins provides idyllic cabin rentals in Tennessee’s largest and most visited state parks. Visitors will enjoy more than 29,800 acres laced with cascades, gorges, streams, and Fall Creek Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the eastern United States at 265 feet. Activities like rock climbing, boating, mountain biking, hiking, and completing the heart-pounding canopy challenge course will make this a wonderful vacation destination for any traveler. For additional fun, the Nature Center at Fall Creek Falls offers hands-on environmental education through a variety of naturalist-led programs. Whatever your adventure, you are sure to find it at the Fall Creek Falls cabins.

If cabins are fully booked at Fall Creek Falls, we encourage you to look for cabin reservations at nearby Cumberland Mountain State Park, just 40 minutes from Fall Creek Falls.

Dining in the Park: Prepared food is available at The Village pool snack bar and FCF Golf Course Pro Shop. Groceries are sold at the camp store in The Village. Fall Creek Falls t-shirts, caps, and other souvenirs are available at our two gift shops; one is located at the park office and one located at the camper check-in building.

Fisherman Cabins

Rates: $182 — $353 Taxes and fees are not included. Rates subject to change. $5 reservation fee per cabin is non-refundable. $10 cancellation fee per cabin applies. Pets are only permitted in designated pet-friendly cabins. There is an additional charge of $20 per night, per pet.

Fall Creek Falls has twenty cabins located directly on Fall Creek Lake, which are known as the “Fishermen Cabins.” Ten of these cabins are two-story, two bedrooms, one and a half bath cabins. The other ten cabins are one-story, three bedrooms, two bath cabins. Fisherman Cabin guests can enjoy outdoor cooking, sunbathing, and fishing from their private porches situated out over the lake. WiFi is available.

On the lower floor of the two-bedroom Fishermen Cabins is a full kitchen, dining area, a living room with a potbelly woodstove, and a full bath. Upstairs are the two bedrooms and the half bath. Inside one bedroom are two full-XL beds and the other bedroom has one king-size bed.

The three-bedroom cabins (also often referred to as villas) consist of a master bedroom with two queen beds, a private bath, and a private balcony. Across the living room are two bedrooms that share a bath. One of these bedrooms contains two queen beds, while the other has a single queen bed.

Maximum consecutive stay from March 1 through November 30 in any cabin is 14 nights. From December 1 to February 29, the maximum stay is 28 nights. Any request for stay lengths beyond these limits must be approved by the Director of Operations or the Director of Hospitality.

Landside Cabins

There are also ten one-story, two-bedroom cabins located on a wooded hill overlooking the lake known as the “Landside Cabins.” Each Landside Cabin has a gas fireplace and is complete with patio, picnic table, and grill for cooking and dining outdoors. WiFi is available.

  • Inside one bedroom are two full-XL beds and the other bedroom has one king size bed.
  • Landside cabins have two playgrounds and a basketball court. Horseshoe pits are available.
